Super Lawyers magazine names attorneys in each state who received the highest point totals, as chosen by their peers and through the independent research of Law & Politics, which performs a complex and thorough polling, research and selection process from which the top 5% are identified.

J. Lester Kaney is recognized in the area of Business Litigation. Mr. Kaney has conducted more than 65 jury trials, and more than 50 non-jury trials and evidentiary proceedings. In addition, Mr. Kaney has briefed and argued more than 50 appeals in state and federal courts. He is board certified as a Civil Trial Lawyer by The Florida Bar, in Civil Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and is also certified by the Florida Bar in the specialty of Business Litigation Law.
Super Lawyers magazine also named "Rising Stars" attorneys who are the state's top up-and-coming attorneys 40 years old or younger, or who have been practicing for 10 years or less. The following Cobb Cole attorneys were named "Florida Rising Stars" for 2010:
Joshua J. Pope is recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in the area of Real Estate Law. Mr. Pope, a partner in Cobb Cole's Real Estate Practice Section, is board certified in the area of Real Estate Law by The Florida Bar. Board Certification in this area is held by less than 1 percent of all attorneys in the State of Florida. Mr. Pope also holds an AV rating, the highest rating obtainable by an attorney from Martindale-Hubbell legal directory.
Michael J. Woods works in Cobb Cole's Deland office and is recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in the area of Land Use/Zoning Law. Mr. Woods is a recent graduate of the Leadership Daytona program, is the Immediate Past President of The House Next Door, and serves as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Volusia County Bar Association.
James Stowers is recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in the area of Land Use/Zoning Law. Mr. Stowers represents clients in all phases of development for commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments including due diligence and procurement of land use/zoning approvals and entitlements. He also advises clients on green and sustainable building practices to facilitate both new development and redevelopment projects throughout East Central Florida. Mr. Stowers was the first attorney in Volusia County to obtain the U.S. Green Building Council Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP) certification.
