Mr. Ferguson, who was chosen as one of Florida's Legal Elite by Florida Trend magazine in
2006 (top 2% of attorneys), is a graduate with high honors from the Florida State
University College of Law, where he served two terms as Associate Editor of the Law Review.
He is a partner that joined the firm through the law clerk program in 1991 and has
continuously practiced with the firm since that time.
Mr. Ferguson practices in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, business organizations,
franchise law, commercial finance, international law and general corporate and contract law.
Professionally, he is a member of the Business Law, Administrative Law, and International Law
sections of The Florida Bar.
Civically, he is the Chairman of the Halifax Area Trade Council; general counsel, secretary
and treasurer for the Daytona Beach Racing and Recreational Facilities District; Immediate-Past
Chairman and current member of Board of Trustees of St. James Episcopal School; Past Chairman
and current member of Board of Directors of Futures, Inc., a Florida not-for-profit corporation
supporting Volusia County Schools; Past Chairman of and current member of the Board of Directors
for the Daytona Beach/Halifax Area Chamber of Commerce; Past Chairman of the Daytona Beach Community
Foundation, Inc.; three-time member of the Board of Directors for Volusia Manufacturers Association;
member of the advisory board for the Volusia Literacy Council; member of the Community Advisory Board
for the Junior League of Daytona Beach; member of the Halifax Area Civic League; past president of
Ormond Main Street, Inc., a Florida not-for-profit corporation; and past president of the Kiwanis
Club of Downtown Daytona Beach. In addition, Mr. Ferguson is a graduate of the Leadership Daytona
Class of 1996 and the 2006 Marvin Samuels Award Winner for Outstanding Service to the Community.
