Lester Kaney received a Juris Doctor with honors in 1972 from the Florida State University College of Law
and has practiced with the firm continuously since then. He is a past Florida Bar section chairman, past
president of the Volusia County Bar Association, past chairman of the Board of the Florida State University
Alumni Association, and past member of the Board of the Florida State University Foundation.
Mr. Kaney is the Chairman of the Board of Daytona Beach International Festival, Inc., and is past chairman of
the Civic League of the Halifax Area. Mr. Kaney holds an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
He is certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by The Florida Bar and by the National Board of Trial Advocacy
and is also certified by the Florida Bar in the specialty of Business Litigation Law. He is an Associate
Member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, and is a Charter Member of the American Employment Law Council.
His practice consists of a wide variety of complex civil issues including business transaction disputes, professional
liability, employment litigation, products liability and probate/trust litigation. Mr. Kaney has been selected
by his peers to membership in the Florida Legal Elite in surveys conducted by and published in Florida Trend Magazine. Mr. Kaney has also been selected as a Florida Superlawyer by publishing company Law & Politics.
