Ms. Kurak graduated from New College of University of South Florida with a degree in Humanities in 1995. In July 2000, she received her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Stetson University College of Law. While at Stetson, she served as an Assistant Editor of the Stetson Law Review, in which she has published two articles, and was a recipient of the National Association of Women Lawyers Outstanding Woman in the Law award.

Admitted to the Florida Bar in 2000, her area of practice is corporate and business law, including business organizations, mergers and acquisitions, and commercial finance. Ms. Kurak currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors and is a Past-President of the Volusia-Flagler PACE Center for Girls; as a member and Past-President of the Executive Women's Council, Inc.; and as a member and Past-President of the Volusia-Flagler Association for Women Lawyers. In addition, Ms. Kurak is a 2003 graduate of the Southeast Volusia Leadership Program and a member of the Leadership Daytona class of 2006.
