Mr. Cobb's father, William M. Cobb, founded the law firm in 1925. Mr. Cobb joined his father after receiving his Ll.B., with honors, from Stetson University in 1939. He has practiced in Daytona Beach since then, joining with Warren Cole in 1950 to begin the firm of Cobb & Cole.

Serving as the Daytona Beach City Attorney from 1953 through 1955, Mr. Cobb was also a member of the Florida House of Representatives from 1947 through 1956, serving as Chairman of the Rules Committee and as author and sponsor of legislation for the improvement of local and state government. Mr. Cobb served as General Counsel to the Florida State Road Board from 1961 through 1965. He was a member/Chairman of the Florida Board of Bar Examiners from 1968 through 1973. Mr. Cobb served on the Board of Directors of First Atlantic National Bank of Daytona Beach (later First Union National Bank) from 1972 through 1991. Mr. Cobb served on the Board of Directors and as General Counsel to the News-Journal Corporation - publisher of the Daytona Beach News-Journal and other newspapers.
In 1955, Mr. Cobb was instrumental in the passage of legislation establishing the Daytona Beach Racing & Recreational Facilities District, which authorized and facilitated the construction and operation of the Daytona International Speedway, and he served as General Counsel of this District since its inception.
Mr. Cobb practiced in the corporate, and estate and trusts areas, and upon retirement he held an AV rating from the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory.
