A native of Daytona Beach, Melissa Murphy graduated from the International Baccalaureate program at Spruce Creek High School in 2003 and pursued her college education at the Florida State University. Ms. Murphy attended the Florida State University College of Law where she served as the Research & Writing Editor for the Law Review. While attending the Florida State University College of Law, Ms. Murphy was a member of the William H. Stafford Inns of Court. Ms. Murphy participated in the Florida Supreme Court Internship program in the Fall of 2008 where she served as a law clerk to Justice Canady. Ms. Murphy graduated sixth in her law school class and was invited to join Cobb Cole at the end of her 2008 summer clerk program.

Ms. Murphy is involved in numerous community organizations and has served as the president of the Volusia Flagler Association for Women Lawyers and the Volusia Young Professionals Group. Ms. Murphy is the chairman of the Board of the Stewart-Marchman-Act Foundation. Ms. Murphy enjoys spending time with her son and husband.
