On July 11, 2012, Katherine Hurst Miller was selected by Governor Rick Scott to serve on the 7th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission. The 7th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission is a constituted body responsible for providing the governor of Florida with a list of possible appointments for judicial vacancies. Ms. Miller was nominated for the position by the Florida Bar, and her term as a commissioner will run until July 1, 2016. “I am honored and excited to serve the Governor, the legal community, and the people of this area in such an important role,” said Ms. Miller of her appointment.
Ms. Miller is an attorney in Cobb Cole‘s litigation department, where she focuses on defending commercial contract and tort disputes. She is heavily involved in community service and activities in the legal profession.
