Daytona Attorney Elected to Statewide Post

DAYTONA BEACH - Cobb Cole attorney Katherine Hurst Miller was sworn in on June 26 as president-elect of the Florida Bar's young lawyers division, the Daytona Beach law firm announced.

When Miller becomes president of the division next year, it will be the first time the statewide association of attorneys under 36 or in their first five years of practice will be led by a lawyer from the Seventh Circuit, which consists of Volusia, Flagler, Putnam and St. Johns counties, according to a news release from Cobb Cole.

"I want to be a great ambassador for the Seventh Circuit - Daytona Beach, specifically - and bring some attention to the area," Miller said.

Miller, who turned 34 this month, was voted in to become president-elect of the Young Lawyers Division in January. She has been an attorney with Cobb Cole since 2006 and a partner with the firm since 2013. She and Robert "Bert" Wohn of the New Smyrna Beach law firm Wright & Casey are the lone representatives on the board from Volusia County. Miller said the board meets eight times a year at different locations throughout the state.
